Who The Holy Spirit Is, God With Us And In Us

Who The Holy Spirit Is, God With Us And In Us

Text: John 14:16–17; Acts 5:3–4; 1 Corinthians 3:16

Many believers know about the Holy Spirit, but few truly understand Him. The Holy Spirit is not a force, not a feeling, and not an influence, He is a Person. He is God Himself, actively present with and within the believer.

Jesus introduced the Holy Spirit as “another Comforter”  meaning one just like Him. This means everything Jesus was to the disciples physically, the Holy Spirit is to us spiritually.

The Holy Spirit is:
  • Your Helper
  • Your Teacher
  • Your Guide
  • Your Comforter
  • Your Advocate

Christianity was never designed to be lived alone. The Holy Spirit is God’s answer to human weakness.

Without the Holy Spirit, the Christian life becomes:
  • Mechanical instead of relational
  • Religious instead of transformational
  • Burdensome instead of empowering

The greatest tragedy is not the absence of the Holy Spirit, but the ignorance of His presence.

He does not only dwell with you—He dwells in you. This means wherever you go, God is present within you.

Biblical Illustration

In Acts 5, when Ananias lied, Peter said he lied to the Holy Spirit, and then said he lied to God. This confirms clearly that the Holy Spirit is God.

Also, in John 14, Jesus assured the disciples they would not be alone , the Spirit would come to dwell in them.
