Using Your Gifts to Serve Others
Text: Galatians 5:13; Mark 10:45; Philippians 2:3–4
Introduction
The Kingdom of God operates differently from the world.
The world asks:
“What can I gain?”
The Kingdom asks:
“Whom can I serve?”
God gives gifts so that lives can be transformed.
The Purpose of Kingdom Gifts
Every gift should solve problems and meet needs.
- Some gifts encourage.
- Some teach.
- Some lead.
- Some provide resources.
- Some bring healing.
- Some offer wisdom.
Regardless of the form, every gift is meant to bless others.
Jesus: The Ultimate Example
Jesus possessed unlimited power.
Yet He used His power to:
- Heal
- Teach
- Deliver
- Feed
- Restore
He never used His gifts selfishly.
Biblical Illustration: Dorcas
Acts 9 describes Dorcas as a woman full of good works.
Her gifts may not have been highly visible.
Yet her service impacted an entire community.
When she died, people mourned because her life had blessed so many.
Deeper Insight
A life focused solely on self eventually becomes empty.
Purpose flourishes when gifts are used to serve others.
Application
- Look for needs around you.
- Serve intentionally.
- Use your gifts consistently.
- Become a blessing wherever God places you.
Shalom
