Key Scripture:
“So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceeding great army.” – Ezekiel 37:10 (KJV)
Introduction
There are moments in life when everything seems lifeless—hopes are dashed, dreams have died, and strength is gone. Like the valley of dry bones that the prophet Ezekiel saw, many find themselves in spiritual, emotional, financial, or physical dead zones. But the Word of the Lord comes to declare today: “Dry bones shall rise again!”
What Are “Dry Bones”?
Dry bones represent:
- Dead dreams and visions (Joel 2:28)
- Hopeless situations (Romans 4:18)
- Spiritual dryness and backsliding (Psalm 63:1)
- Lost purpose and direction (Proverbs 29:18)
- Marriages, ministries, or businesses that seem beyond repair
Just like Israel felt forgotten and cut off (Ezekiel 37:11), many feel the same today. But God sees differently.
God’s Question: “Can These Bones Live?”
God asked Ezekiel in Ezekiel 37:3:
“Son of man, can these bones live?”
This wasn’t because God didn’t know—they were being invited to see with eyes of faith. God still asks us the same today:
- Can your lost purpose live again?
- Can your dry marriage thrive again?
- Can your dead spiritual life be restored?
Ezekiel wisely answered, “O Lord God, thou knowest.” (v.3). A posture of humility and trust is the first key to seeing resurrection.
The Power of Prophetic Declaration
God instructed Ezekiel to prophesy:
“Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.” – Ezekiel 37:4
Nothing changes in the spirit until a voice is lifted. Life begins to return when the Word of God is declared in faith. The same God who spoke the universe into being (Hebrews 11:3) empowers us to speak His Word into our dead situations.
Key truth: Your valley responds not to your tears but to your voice!
Four Phases of Resurrection
- Hearing the Word – Faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17)
- Rattling & Noise – Change begins to stir (Ezekiel 37:7)
- Forming of Structure – Sinews and flesh came (v.8)
- Breath Entering – God’s Spirit brings full restoration (v.9–10)
The Breath of God Brings Life
“Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.” – Ezekiel 37:9
The Hebrew word for “breath” is ruach, meaning Spirit or wind. It is the same breath that God used in Genesis 2:7 when He formed man.
Dry bones don’t just need structure—they need the Holy Spirit to empower them. That is when the army rises.
God’s Promise of Restoration
“Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves…” – Ezekiel 37:12
“And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O my people…” – Ezekiel 37:13
Your story is not over. God specializes in resurrections—not just of the body, but of hopes, ministries, families, and futures.
How to Experience Your Own Rising
- Believe the Word of God – Even if everything looks hopeless (Hebrews 11:1)
- Speak life, not death – Don’t reinforce what you see; declare what God said (Proverbs 18:21)
- Invite the Holy Spirit – Only the Spirit gives life (John 6:63)
- Walk in obedience – Do what God instructs even when it doesn’t make sense (Luke 5:5)
- Stay connected to the Body of Christ – The bones formed a body, not individuals (Ezekiel 37:7)
Encouraging Scriptures
- Isaiah 43:19 – “Behold, I will do a new thing…”
- Job 14:7 – “For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again…”
- Romans 8:11 – “He that raised up Christ shall also quicken your mortal bodies…”
- Joel 2:25 – “I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…”
Conclusion: You Shall Rise Again
No matter how scattered or lifeless your situation is today, God is not finished with you. Just as He raised the dry bones into a mighty army, He is calling forth revival, restoration, and resurrection in every area of your life.
DECLARATION
I prophesy life over every dry bone in my life. I receive the breath of the Holy Spirit. I declare that my dreams, my destiny, my purpose, and my walk with God are coming back to life. Dry bones shall rise again in Jesus’ name!
