Forgiveness — Love That Heals Relationships

Forgiveness — Love That Heals Relationships
Introduction

Few things test love more than offense. Words spoken in anger, betrayal, disappointment, and misunderstanding can leave deep wounds. Many relationships remain broken not because love is impossible, but because forgiveness is withheld. Jesus places forgiveness at the heart of Christlike love.

“Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13

Forgiveness is not denial of pain; it is a decision to release bitterness.

Body: Biblical Teaching

Jesus teaches that forgiveness must be continual.

“Not seven times, but seventy-seven times.” — Matthew 18:22

Unforgiveness imprisons the heart.

“Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.”Ephesians 4:26–27

Christ forgave us at great cost.

“Father, forgive them.” — Luke 23:34

Holding unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to suffer. Forgiveness frees the one who releases it.
