Growing Through Prayer
Prayer is not merely asking for things; it is communion with God. Spiritual growth happens in the secret place. A believer who does not pray will struggle spiritually. Prayer aligns our hearts with God’s will and strengthens us in unseen ways.
“Devote yourselves to prayer.”- Colossians 4:2
Jesus Himself modeled consistent prayer (Mark 1:35). If the Son of God needed prayer, how much more do we?
Biblical Teaching
Prayer deepens intimacy:
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”- James 4:8
Prayer strengthens:
“Pray in the Spirit on all occasions.”- Ephesians 6:18
Prayer brings peace:
“Do not be anxious about anything… and the peace of God… will guard your hearts.”- Philippians 4:6–7
Persistent prayer builds endurance (Luke 18:1).
Illustration
Prayer is like oxygen to the soul. Without oxygen, the body cannot survive. Without prayer, the spirit weakens.

Reflection & Closing
Ask Yourself:
- Is my prayer life consistent or occasional?
