Purity in Heart and Action
Text: Matthew 5:8; Psalm 24:3–4
God is deeply concerned about the condition of your heart. You may appear righteous outwardly but still be impure inwardly.
Purity is not just about avoiding sin, it is about having a heart that is fully devoted to God.
In today’s world, impurity is normalized:
- Immoral content is easily accessible
- Sin is rebranded as freedom
- Conviction is replaced with justification
But purity is still God’s standard.
What you consistently expose yourself to will shape your heart. Your eyes, ears, and thoughts are gateways.
If you don’t guard them, impurity will enter your life.
Biblical Illustration
David (Psalm 51) after his sin with Bathsheba shows us the importance of returning to purity. His prayer was not for image restoration, but heart transformation.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God.”
This shows that:
- Purity can be restored
- God values brokenness and repentance
