Freedom from Fear

Key Text: 2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Christian Article: “Fear Not – Living in God’s Boldness”

Fear is a thief. It robs us of joy, purpose, clarity, and intimacy with God. Throughout Scripture, we are commanded over 365 times to “Fear Not.” That’s one for every day of the year. Why would God repeat this command so often? Because fear is the most common weapon Satan uses to neutralize believers.

When Peter walked on water, he succeeded while his eyes were on Jesus—but sank when he looked at the wind and waves (Matthew 14:29-30). Fear diverts our focus. Yet, God has given us tools: His Word, His Spirit, and the community of believers.

Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you” (John 14:27). Peace is the antidote to fear. Faith is the weapon. And the love of God casts it out (1 John 4:18).
