Moving Forward in Freedom and Faith

Moving Forward in Freedom and Faith

Letting go of the past prepares us to walk forward in faith. God never calls His people to remain stuck; He always leads them onward.

God reassures His people:

“The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”— Deuteronomy 31:8

Faith looks ahead, not backward.

“We walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7

Illustration

When Israel left Egypt, God parted the Red Sea in front of them, not behind them. The way forward required trust. Looking back would have only led them back into bondage. Freedom required movement.

Jesus declares:

“If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36

True freedom comes when we stop rehearsing the past and start walking in the identity Christ has given us.

Closing Reflection

Letting go of the past is not forgetting lessons learned — it is releasing what God has already redeemed. When we surrender yesterday to God, He fills tomorrow with hope.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
