Prayer — The Discipline That Sustains the Soul
Prayer is the foundation of a disciplined Christian life. Through prayer, believers express dependence on God and build intimacy with Him. Prayer is not just a response to trouble; it is a daily connection with the Father.
Scripture exhorts us:
“Pray without ceasing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Prayer brings peace and direction.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” — Philippians 4:6

A phone that is never charged will eventually shut down. In the same way, a believer who neglects prayer will eventually feel spiritually drained. Prayer keeps us connected to our power source.
Jesus taught:
“Men always ought to pray and not lose heart.” — Luke 18:1
A disciplined prayer life keeps the heart aligned with God.
Application
- Establish fixed prayer times
- Speak honestly to God, not religiously
- Use Scripture to guide your prayers
A praying believer is a spiritually strengthened believer.
